Constant of Integration

When taking the derivative of a function some data is lost. Namely the starting point of the original line.

Notice that the above didn't survive the conversion. To prevent errors a constant of integration is added to an equation when taking the integral.

Where is the constant of integration. It is merely a variable that contains an unknown constant. Thus for the purposes of calculus should be treated as a constant not a variable.
